Meet Our New Intern!

Purpose Worldwide is proud to introduce our newest intern, John Fallon. Learn more about this future communications expert.

John Fallon | From Hingham, MA

Tell us a little bit about your background: I am currently a graduate student at Boston University, where I’m finishing up a Master’s degree in Media Science. Before, I had earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and Modern Foreign Language (Italian) from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. After college, I worked in sales as a Business Development Representative for Toast Inc. in Boston. There, I became increasingly interested in their digital marketing efforts and decided it was the direction I wanted to take my career in. This led me to BU and where I am today at Purpose Worldwide.

What made you apply to Purpose Worldwide? The high-profile list of clients in the adtech and fintech industries was a huge appeal. For someone building a career in digital communications, this felt like the place to be with the right people to learn from. Working with clients to tell their stories and improve their business has been a highly valuable experience already. It’s given me this behind-the-scenes view of earned media, which I feel will be crucial in my marketing career going forward.

What do you hope to accomplish in this internship?: I hope to gain a better understanding of how businesses are utilizing PR agencies to increase their digital presence in crowded markets. I also believe this is the perfect opportunity to network with reporters and journalists in related fields, which would help tremendously down the road in my career.

Is there anything else you’d want people to know?: When I am not in class or interning at Purpose, I do freelance writing for various different websites, such as sports columns and recaps at BU’s The Daily Free Press and features and long-form articles for FanSided. My dog’s name is Myla!

Describe yourself using five words: Outgoing, friendly, aspirational, hardworking, and imaginative!

What’s your favorite brand?: Apple

What’s your favorite food?: Buffalo Chicken Calzone.

What’s your favorite book(s)?:The Wheel of Time or A Song of Ice and Fire.
